She's reported on sports for some of some of the most prominent media across the globe. Her time working at The Washington Post was spent covering multiple Olympics, Grand Slam Tennis along with basketball, football and other sports. In 2004, Nichols was transferred to ESPN for a period of nine years in which she earned two Emmy Awards and appeared on several of the network's top popular shows, such as SportsCenter and NFL Countdown. In addition, Nichols was an assistant journalist on the Monday Night Football broadcasts. Her next assignment was CNN and Turner Sports. Unguarded: Rachel Nichols hosted her own show on CNN International. It had over 1 billion viewers across the world. Nichols reported on NBA shows on TNT as well as the playoffs, regular season as well as All-Star broadcasts. Also, she reported for TBS broadcasting golf and baseball broadcasts, and Final Four broadcasts on CBS. It was only the 2nd occasion in the 42-year history of TBS that women were nominated out of more than 200 nominations.
